Modern; intuitive; well-designed—words not commonly used to describe medical applications. We’re here to change that, starting with medical billing and coding.
Our father is a physician, and a small business owner, so we’ve had a front-row seat to the challenges and archaic software paradigms faced by medical professionals on a daily basis.
For us, it’s personal, but we genuinely hope Med Genius benefits millions of others out there—that’s what we’ll be building toward. Come along with us on the journey.

10+ years building web apps and SaaS products
Alex Dixon
A seasoned entrepreneur, Alex has been building and operating businesses since graduating from MIT in 2014. With a background in architecture, design and SEO, he leads strategy, design and growth at Med Genius, and dabbles in programming every now and then (when Theo lets him).
Previously, he was co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at the series B startup Monograph, overseeing vertical expansion and new product lines. Prior to that he ran a design and development agency, Dixon & Moe, building web apps and SaaS tools for brands like Lending Tree, Figma and MIT.
Theo Dixon
When he’s not handling customer experience, you’ll find Theo working on new features for the site. Prior to Med Genius, he spent almost a decade in multiple client-facing roles, from health insurance customer advocate to enterprise software technical writer.
Early in his career, Theo worked at UPMC Health Plan as a client advocate—a role at the nexus of the patient-provider-insurer relationship. This work provided insight into the complexities of medical industry back-of-house procedures and ignited his interest in bringing modern tools to underserved sectors.
